Eddsworld-TomxTord-Bounded by Secrets: Chapter 1

A blue hooded figure lay silently next to a foggy window, gazing out onto the dimly lit street as if it was a sight that he had never laid eyes on before. His friends didn't see it as more than the surrounds of a house they had lived in for several years; they didn't understand. Tom saw it as a never-ending pathway towards the unknown, and he knew the one person he had felt…'right'…with had gone down the same road 5 years before.
Edd and Matt often felt confused by their friend's actions. What he did wasn't considered 'normal', it was considered something he should see a psychiatrist about. Tom's biggest problem was that he was never open about the way he felt. He would hold back his tears and attempt to use alcohol as a form of anti-depressant drug, since for ten years of his life he didn't have anyone to talk to about these things, no-one his age going through it at the same time; he hadn't developed skills that helped him deal with different feelings to the one he had been told was the way you should feel all the time: Happiness. For ten years of his life, he had no friends to discuss anything like that with.
It was thirteen years ago that he had met Edd. They hadn't met in real life until two years later, but the two used to talk a lot on certain websites they used. Tom had become Edd's fan almost immediately when he had found his work, and when Edd had moved on to more than just stick figure animations, Tom sent him a drawing of his own character in Edd's style. After talking a bit more, the two had become great friends.
After a while, they had decided they'd meet in person at some time. Tom had already met some of Edd's other friends over Newgrounds, but hadn't really talked much, and he supposed he's meet some of them as well. They didn't really worry about it until later that year.
Tom's parents had decided that he should get some experience living without them between the time he was 12 and 14. When Tom got in a lot of trouble after being accused of something at school he didn't even do, he realized that it would be a good time to leave for a while. He packed his things into a bag (And brought his bass with him, too) and set off. He left a note on the table that read:
'Doing what you said, trying to live without you. When I find somewhere I'll send the details to you. Pick me up there this time next year.
-Tom'
The problem was, Tom had nowhere to go, at least not that he knew of. It was pure luck that he'd been found by someone who knew him, otherwise he could of died on the streets. Because he had family in London, he'd left Lincoln and gone there. He wasn't entirely sure where in London they lived, though, seeing as it was big city, he'd just have to find out. After spending a few hours looking for someone who he was related to, he heard something coming towards him and shouting his name.
"Tom? Is that you?"
He spun around to find someone he definitely didn't know seem very happy to see him. The boy seemed older than Tom, probably by two or so years.
"Yeah, I'm Tom…why?"
The boy smiled. "I knew it was you! There's no way to mistake your lack of eyes!" It's Edd, by the way."
Tom explained to Edd what had happened, and he was more than happy to let him stay in his house with some of his other friends.  "There's an extra room that you can have, I'm sure the others won't mind."
When Edd introduced Tom to 'the others', Matt and Tord, it was fairly clear he was right. They didn't really seem to mind him being there, and Tord was happy to have someone of his age around, at first.
After a while, he became a bit more than 'happy' about Tom's being there.
